20 Romantic Goth Crochet Patterns You HAVE to Make
Are you a romantic who loves a darker vibe and looking for some pieces to make, especially with Fall and Halloween around the corner? Well if so, I have curated a list of 20 lovely romantic goth crochet patterns that you have to make if you love this style, and have separated them into accessories, shawls, clothing, and corsets. Accessories:
First is the spiderweb necklace by Penolopy Bullock. This one is more beginner friendly and a free pattern, and it has quite a few photos to help with making it. It works up quite fast and only uses a little bit of yarn and adds a gothic flair to your look. It would also be perfect to make for Halloween and I thought the lacy nature of the spider web gives it that romantic vibe and I also love the spider they added.
Next is the Gothic Fingerless Gloves by Lunar Still. This one is a paid pattern on their website and is more intermediate or confident beginner. This pattern also has a lot of photos and so it’s written in a more beginner way. Fingerless gloves are definitely a staple and with that lacy style they are definitely a statement piece. I just love how this piece looks so intricate but would be quite simple to create.

Another one is the lacy boho festival bag by Anastassja Kirsch, and is more intermediate level to make. This pattern is a really lovely lacy chic bag that can be made with or without fringe. It is more intermediate level and also a paid pattern on their website. I love the fine details of it, and thought the lacy nature of it made it perfect for this roundup. And if you give it a nice lacy white lining it would really perfect it. I’d personally make it with the fringe because I think it gives it that extra romantic touch.

I also liked the Floral Lace Balaclava by Don’t Forget Winnie. This one is more advanced level to create and a paid pattern in their Etsy. It’s a relatively quick make to make and the pattern includes plenty of pictures, and this one is also no-sew which is also great if you don’t like sewing.

Next is the cowl scarf with a hood by Crazy Cool Crochet. This one is free and on their YouTube Channel. I love the lacy flow of this one too, and it’s really repetitive and easy to work up. And I love the colorway they used for this scarf, it really is perfect for this aesthetic.
Leg Warmers by Fox Hill Colors, see the pattern here.
These leg warmers by Fox Hill Colors is also fun. This one is beginner friendly and a paid pattern in their Etsy, and it includes color illustrations and crochet chart symbols which you should know how to read. I love the ruffles at the bottom and the diamond lace at the top and the ties, I think it would also be nice with ribbons for laces at the top.

You can also make the Linya Earrings by Matiden Mark. I just had to add them, I thought they were very romantic and unique, there is a video and written pattern here and it is in English and Danish. The video demonstrates how to crochet the earrings, block them, insert the ear studs and weave the yarn, and this on this a paid pattern on their website.
Shawl:
Triangle Shawl by Kristen Holloway Designs, see the pattern here.
First is the Primrose and Proper Easy triangle Shawl by Kristen Holloway Designs. It’s made using basic stitches and that pattern is a simple 4-row repeat. You can easily adjust it and make it longer if you like, and can be worked up while watching a movie even which is great. It measures 72 inches wide by 30 inches long, it’s beginner friendly and free on their blog. And this one would be perfect to whip up and style for Fall and Winter.

Next is the Veil Shawl by It Was Yarn. It’s more intermediate level to make and once complete measures 21 inches along the back. It features an open lace pattern that drapes beautifully and when using the yarn they used it also has little sequins that shimmer in the light, it’s also free on the hobby website and very elegant make.

I also love the lost souls skull shawl by Marietta Roy. This pattern features a lacy skull motif, and is a paid pattern on their Ravelry. This shawl look more intermediate level as well, and I feel l like it would die so fun to style for Winter, and it would be even more perfect with fringe along the edge.

Next is the vampire shawl by Crude Things. This one is a paid pattern in their Etsy and is definitely for Intermediate level crocheters and has step-by-step instructions to create it. It can be worn as a shawl or a hip scarf, over your head and around the neck s well, and I love the distressed nature of this one and how versatile it is.

This one is the perfect layering piece and is written in a beginner friendly because it involves minimal sewing and stitching to finish it off. To create it you work a wide panel and attach sleeves and it can be worn draped like a scarf or styled as a light sweater. The construction is simple, you crochet a lace-textured rectangle and finish it off with ribbed sleeves. And this one is a perfect layering piece for colder weather.
December Romance Dress by Knits n Knots, see the pattern here.
Next is the December Romance Dress by Knits n Knots. It’s sophisticated and I love the colorway they made this in, it’s very timeless and romantic with the off the shoulder fit. There is also optional waist shaping if you want to accentuate the waist which I love, and it has sizes XS to 5XL. And this would be the perfect, timeless dress with the oversized collar as wells and it’s paid on their website. It is also featured in their book which has 20 size-inclusive sweater patterns and is called “Modern Crochet Sweaters”.

I also like the Estelle Dress by I am Lanka Designs. It’s a more intermediate, size-inclusive pattern and I love how it’s designed to hug your body. It also features puffy sleeves and a lacy ruffle detailing at the bust and bottom of the dress. It’s very romantic and if styled correctly could also have a edger vibe if paired with the right jewelry and a heavier boot like a combat boot. And this one is a paid pattern on their website.

Or make the Clea Dress by Matiden Mark. This one is also a more romantic style with bra cups, an elastic edge and ruffle edge details. It’s confident beginner friendly and a paid pattern on their website. I love the elastics on the straps, it would be so comfortable to wear, and this one would also be so fun to style for this romantic goth vibe.

Next is the romantic girl crochet dress by Fashion Martina. I thought this one really fit this vibe because of the lacy design and off the shoulder styling. It has 2 sizes, S/M and M/L, and it is made seamless in one piece in rounds from the top down. To create it you make the base then do the front design with filet crochet, the side panels, edging, lacing and buttons to finish it off. There are charts for XS to M and L size and bigger as well as a video tutorial on their YouTube channel, and I just love the detailing on this one with the filet crochet and laces.
