I also love this beautiful shell bra cup top. To create it, you work the shell cups, then work along the side and work the body of the top, then the straps. It’s beginner friendly to make and includes sizes XS to XL.

 

Mermaid Dream Shrug by Molly Muffers, see the pattern here.

You could also make this mermaid dream shrug by Molly Muffers. Adorned with shell-inspired mesh motifs and sea foam-inspired cuffs, this shrug gives off major siren vibes for sure. 🌟  And it’s available as a paid pattern on their shop and is made to measure.

I also liked this hexagon halter top by made by Molly. It’s advanced beginner level to make is made to measure so that you can adjust it to exactly fit you, and it is made by following a stitch graph. This one is available as a paid pattern in their Etsy shop. Flowy and customizable, this advanced beginner pattern is a dreamy addition to your wardrobe.

 

Mermaid Top by Oliviatully 28, see the pattern here

This mermaid mesh tops by Oliviatully28 is also cute. I like how they used cowrie shells and pearl beads to give it that extra this one is beginner friendly as well. There is a full YouTube video tutorial for this one on her channel. 

 

Bottoms:

Marine Skirt by Big Dreamer Crochet, see the pattern here

First is this marine skirt by Big Dreamer Crochet. There are instructions on how to make a mini, midi or maxi skirt style and there are 14 different marine motifs from crab, to octopus and seahorse and sea stars to shells. This one is a paid pattern in their Etsy shop.

This sea shell skirt by Garn studio is also very cute. I love the shell motif details along the bottom  on this one and the pearl buttons, there are a few very helpful diagrams for this one as well. This one is a free pattern on their website and has sizes small to 3XL.

 

Mermaid Lace Pants by Andrea Campbell, see the pattern here

You could also make these mermaid lace pants by Andrea Campbell are also very lovely. I love the details in this one and there are 3 different lace motifs that are linked together to make this one. I love the dramatic flare and scalloped edges as well! This one is a paid pattern on their ravelry and has one size that fits small and medium and the length can be modified, but I think it would be pretty simple to adjust to size if you mess with the gauge a bit. 

 

Waves Miniskirt by Cactus Lady Creation, see the pattern here

I had fun creating this waves miniskirt as well and the pattern is by me. I would say it’s definitely beginner friendly to make. Made with a wave stitch motif and bead charms, this beginner-friendly skirt is a personal favorite. It’s made to measure, and it's available as a video tutorial on my YouTube Channel.

These boho-inspired pants are perfect for lounging in mermaid style. I loved how these pants had a boho feeling, and there are a lot of customization tips throughout the pattern to help you get the right fit. It’s available as a paid pattern on their shop. 

 

Dresses: 

The Siren Dress by Beaumeadow, see the pattern here

First is this lovely siren dress by beaumeadow. This pattern is made to measure and it actually uses knitting and crochet to make so you do need to also know how to knit. But I love the mesh netting across the stomach and the crochet edging on this one. And it’s a paid pattern on their ko-fi account.

 

Pineapple Dress by Be A Crafter, see the pattern here.

I also like this Pineapple Dress by Be a Crafter. It uses the pineapple stitch which gives it a lovely lacy design and it suggests to use lightweight yarns so that it is a lighter maxi and more flowy. The special stitches used here are the 2 dc v stitch and v stitch. The pattern has sizes small and medium and is free on their website. 

 

Mermaid Dress by C Clean Croche, see the pattern here

Here is another mermaid inspired dress by C Clean Croche. It is beginner friendly and only uses basic stitches, and I love the mesh design, it’s easy to adjust to size to your exact measurements. This one is a video tutorial on her YouTube channel. 

 

Pineapple Lace Gown by Annie's Catalog, see the pattern here

Or make this pineapple lace gown by Annie’s Catalog. This one is designed as a bridal gown but I think it’s also gorgeous wear on the beach and has a mermaid vibe. It is created by working 4 rectangles that are seamed at the shoulder to make 2 long strips.

Then after the panels are completed, a beaded center trim is joined at the bottom right panel and is worked up and over each shoulder and then down again to the opposite hem. It is a paid pattern on their website and has sizes Small to 3 XL. 

 

Shawls:

Mermaid Tears Shawl by Salty Pearl Crochet, see the pattern here

First is the Mermaid Tears Shawl by Salty Pearl Crochet, the special stitches used to make it are the picot, quintuple crochet, shell and v stitch. I love how flows this shawl is and feel it would be perfect to also make and throw over your outfit to give it a mermaid vibe. It measures 74 inches wide, but there are some tips on how to adjust it and make it shorter if you like, and it is free on their blog.

I also love this Mermaid Shawl by Selina Veronique. It’s beginner friendly to make as it’s a simple triangle granny pattern and I love her choice of yarn. The drape is gorgeous and the sparkly effect gives it an extra mermaid vibe. This pattern is available for free on her blog. 

 

Barbizon Shawl by Lion Brand, see the pattern here.  

Or make the Barbizon Shawl by Lion Brand. This shawl is worked in one piece with a lovely ripple design, and the ripple is created by skipping 2 sts to form valleys and working 3 dc to create peaks. There is also a very helpful stitch diagram for this one. It measures 22.5 by 82 inches or 57 by 208 cm. This one is beginner friendly to make and is a free pattern on their website. 

 

Accessories:

Since it’s late summer and nearly fall at the time of this patterns video, I made sure that some of these are perfect for colder weather.

First are these mermaid wrist warmers by crochet tea party. The special techniques used to create this piece are the front and back post double crochet, crocodile stitch and crab stitch, it is more advanced level to create. This one is a paid pattern on their website.

I also liked this mermaid tails hat by Red Heart. This hat is more intermediate level to create, and the special stitches to create are front post double crochet, the front post double crochet 2 together, front post puff stitch, and reverse single crochet which is also known as the crab stitch. This pattern also has a helpful chart to make it. It’s available for free on the yarnspirations website.

Or make this mermaid slouchy beanie by Crafty Kitty Crochet. With a crocodile stitch and sparkly yarn, this beanie is both stylish and cozy. It is available as a paid pattern in their Etsy shop. 

 

Home Decor: 

Mermaid Sack by Yarnspirations, see the pattern here

You could make the Mermaid Snuggle Sack by Yarnpsirations. It measures 46 inches or 117 cm min circumference by 45 inches or 114.5 cm long excluding the tail. It uses only basic stitches to make and is beginner friendly. This one is a free pattern on the Yarnspirations website and perfect for being cozy in mermaid style. 

 

Seashell Carpet by Magic Carpet Studio, see the pattern here.

Next is this sea shell carpet by Magic Carpet Studio, and this measures 210x170 cm if you use 5mm cotton string. It uses basic stitches to make and has a diagram in the pattern that is very helpful. It’s a free pattern in their Ravelry. Gorgeous and sizable, this carpet adds a touch of oceanic charm to any room.

 

Ocean Waves Throw by Marianne Forresal, see the pattern here

Make this ocean waves throw which was designed by Marianne Forresal. It uses basic stitches to make and the finished throw measures 42 inches or 106.5 cm wide by 67 inches or 107 cm long.

I love how simple this one is to make. It would definitely be able to be made in a couple of crafting sessions, and this one is a free pattern on their website. Simple and beautiful, this throw is perfect for adding a coastal feel to your space.

 

Starfish Pillow by Yarnspirations, see the pattern here

I also liked this Starfish Pillow by Yarnspirations. It measures 18 by 18 inches or 46 cm by 46 cm and is constructed by crouching two parts and seaming it together with a slip stitch.

Then additional single crochet rounds are completed after seaming to add some accent edging. A fun and textured pillow with picot stitches—perfect for adding a splash of mermaid magic to your home.
