🌸 Spring is Sprung! it's officially the perfect time to grab a fun skein of yarn, your favorite hook and go outside to crochet the day away!

🌼 So in this blog post I wanted to share 25 of my favorite crochet projects to make to welcome in the sunny weather, and I separated them into four different categories: Dresses, Blouses, Sweaters/Shawls & Accessories. You can also check out all of the exact links to each pattern below.

🌷I especially love all the flowers that emerge around this time of year, so many of these patterns have flowery details, perfect for picnic lunches or tea parties.

🪻Most of these patterns are beginner-friendly, but there are also a few more intermediate and advanced ones, so there really is something for everyone here!

Dresses:

My favorite thing about the warmer weather is not having to wear as many bulky layers. Don't get me wrong, I adore layering and playing with all the textures and colors to style my outfits, but I also appreciate the clean look of a simple, gorgeous dress paired with minimal jewelry and a nice pair of shoes. So, here are some of my favorite dresses to crochet this Spring.

White Flowers Dress by TulipOlga, see the pattern here

This first pattern is a White Flowers Dress by TulipOlga. This one is more intermediate level, as it requires basic stitches as well as quadruple treble crochet, back post single crochet, and the picot stitch and it uses quite a few charts and shows how to make different flower patterns then gives instructions and tips on how to assemble them all together.

So for this one you do need to be comfortable with sewing all of the flowers together, but this would really be a one-of-a-kind piece to make so it’s definitely worth all of the sewing and detail work.

Golden Hour Dress by Originally Lovely, see the pattern here

Campanula Dress by Drops Design, see the pattern here

Another really lovely lacy dress is the Campanula Dress by Garn Studio. To create this pieces first you work squares, then they are connected together, and you work along one side of the squares up the skirt and top. Then the ruffles along the arms and bottom. I love the button detailing on this piece, And the sizing for this dress are S to 3XL.

Audrey Crochet Dress by For the Frills, see the pattern here

Next is the Audrey Crochet Dress by For the Frills. The design was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, but this dress is more beginner friendly and only uses basic stitches as well as the dc2together. The dress is worked from the top down, and they worked this piece with the lion brand jeans yarn which has a bit of a nice drape to it and becomes longer once you’ve worn it.. This pattern is on their blog, and the sizing for this dress is from XS to 3XL.

Blouses:

Crochet blouses are perfect for warmer weather. They're typically simple and quicker to work up, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece to wear to your favorite festival or a day at the beach. These tops are versatile and ideal for layering; you can effortlessly pair them with jeans or a long, flowy skirt.

Kismet Halter Top by Simple Crochet Mag, see the pattern here

This first one is the Kismet Halter Top by Simple Crochet Mag. There are a lot of photos to help with each step with this one. First you start with the middle doily design then work the bra cups, then sew them together and work the bottom and side panels, the trim and straps. Then lastly the mendi border gives it that petal and pompom effect, and I there are cup sizes A to DD in this pattern.

Peek A Boo Top by The Hook Nook Life, see the pattern here

You could also make the Peek a Boo Top by The Hook Nook. I would say this one is more beginner-friendly because it requires you to know only the ch, sl st, sc, hdc and hdc dec stitches. Norma Jeane Top by Monica Nanni, see the pattern here

I also loved this Norma Jeane Halter Top by Monica Nanni. This design has a really elegant sort of design to it, and has sizing S to 2XL. It would be perfect to whip up for spring and throw on with a pair of high waist pants or a skirt. I love the design of the straps and the little button detailing in the back, and this one is a tutorial on Hobbii’s website.

Sweaters & Shawls:

On those chilly mornings, evenings, or rainy days, sometimes you just need a light layer to throw over your shoulders to keep warm. Personally, I easily get cold on windy days, so I've gathered my favorite sweaters and shawls that are perfect to whip up for those chillier Spring times.

Frozen Flower Shawl by It was Yarn, see the pattern here

First is the Flower Shawl by It was Yarn. I love how the doilies are created and then connected together to make sure a unique pattern. This one is more advanced to make, but there are quite a few diagrams to help with making it. Two Rectangle Sweater by Yarnspirations, see the pattern here

A great beginner friendly pattern is the Two Rectangle Sweater. This one would be perfect to layer on top of bathing suits or wearing to the beach. The special stitch you need to know is the foundation single crochet but it is quite simple to do. To make it you work two rectangle panels for the front and back, then they are folded to create the shoulder, then the center front and back seams are joined which leaves room for the neck opening.

Then the side seams are joined and leaves room for the arm holes, neck and head opening. This pattern is available on Yarnspirations website and has sizing Small to 3 XL.

The Palmar Pullover by E and P Crochet, see the pattern here

Next is the Palmar Pullover by E and P Crochet. This top is worked from bottom to top and has a baggy fit, and extra long sleeves, so you can cuff it if you like or wear it off the shoulder. It’s always nice to have a lighter and looser layering piece for those chillier mornings or evening in the Spring. The special stitches for this pattern is the picot stitch, and there are 5 sizes for this piece from XS to 5XL.

Accessories:

Looking for the perfect accessory to take along to your afternoon at the park or picnic? Or perhaps wanting to wear something that screams Spring? I believe one of these patterns will be perfect or, at the very least, provide some inspiration for your next project.

Pansy Purse by Skump Stitch, see the pattern here

First is this Pansy Purse by Skump Stitch. It is more intermediate and I love this design so much I had to add it. This pattern is very customizable and has 6 different color combinations and 2 edging options. The tote measures about 15 by 20 inches with a 11 inch handle. The techniques used for this piece are the basic stitches as well as the increase and decreasing stitch. It is optional but you can also add lining to the bag which would add durability. This pattern includes detailed in-depth pictures and videos for each step of creating this piece.

Flora Beret by Hobbii, see the pattern here

Or you could make this fancy Flora Beret by It Was Yarn. The more advanced stitches used for this one are the reverse single crochet, front post double crochet and back post double crochet. And there are two different sizes, a medium pattern for 22 inches or 56 cm circumference size and a 23 or 59 cm circumference.

The flowers are joined as you go in a counter clockwise fashion, and connecting them seems to be what makes this pattern more advanced. This is such a unique gorgeous piece to make to celebrate all of the flowers in Spring, and is available for free on Hobbii’s website.

Cherry Bag by Lirio Knits, see the pattern here.

Or if you are a fan of cherries you can make the Cherry Bag by Lirio Knits. This bag measures about 24 cm or 9 inches in width by 16 cm or 6 inches in length, and 6 cm or 2 inches in depth. And to make it you work two pieces with double crochets that are sewn together, then are secured to the bamboo handles with rectangle pieces that are made using single crochets. The tapestry technique is used which makes the fabric more dense and durable so a liner is not needed.  I feel like this piece would be perfect to take with you on a cute little picnic or tea party.

Butterfly Bag by Lion Brand, see the pattern here

Another great bag to make would be this Butterfly Bag by Lion Brand. The finished circumference is 36 inches or 91.5 cm by 11.5 inches or 29 cm height not including the handles. It’s made with 24/7 cotton yarn by Lion Brand, which is one of my favorite cotton yarns to crochet items for Spring and Summer with and it is a beginner friendly piece to make.

To create it you work up the base and body of the bag and then make 2 handles and all of the butterflies. For this piece pictured they made 74 butterflies. Tthis one would be perfect to use up scraps in various colors for all of those lovely butterflies.

Flower Necklace by Creative Yarn, see the pattern here

Or make a Flower Necklace like this one by Creative Yarn. To make it you work the stems with the leaves and then the flower. Then finish it off by sewing the flower between the ring and three stem chains. This is a beginner friendly and pretty quick pattern to create, and it would be a perfect one to wear and layer with other necklace on those warmer Spring days.
